Pathways for the Conservation and Development of Agricultural Heritage Systems:A fsQCA Analysis Based on 17 Typical Cases in Zhejiang Province

Abstract
The protection and development of agricultural cultural heritage constitute a critical initiative for the thorough implementation of the rural cultural relic preservation project,the advancement of sus-tainable agricultural development,and the realization of rural revitalization.This study adopts a dual-di-mensional analytical framework-encompassing internal and external environmental factors-and incorpo-rates ten antecedent condition variables.Drawing on 17 representative cases from Zhejiang Province listed in the National Important Agricultural Cultural Heritage Register,the research applies fuzzy-set Qualita-tive Comparative Analysis(fsQCA)to investigate the complex,multi-factorial causal configurations in-fluencing agricultural cultural heritage protection and development,as well as to identify diverse pathways for enhancing protection effectiveness.The findings reveal that per capita disposable income of rural resi-dents serves as a necessary condition for effective protection and development;by contrast,none of the other individual condition variables alone fulfill this necessary condition status.The study identifies three distinct configurational pathways conducive to high-level protection and development:namely,the"Comprehensive Coordination Type",the"Industry-Driven Income Enhancement Type",and the"Re-source Transformation Type".Finally,policy recommendations are proposed across three interrelated di-mensions:institutional and policy support,grassroots organizational capacity building,and cultural dis-semination and public awareness promotion.关键词
