Famous Traditional Chinese Medicine Expert WANG Jindong from Guangdong Province Applies Chaiqin Wendan Decoction Based on the Pivot Theory

Abstract
The pivot theory,originating from the Huangdi's Internal Classic(Huang Di Nei Jing)and further developed in the Treatise on Cold Damage(Shang Han Lun),has become one of the core theories in traditional Chinese medicine for explaining the laws of Qi movement(ascending,descending,exiting,and entering)and the mechanisms of disease progression.The Shaoyang meridian governs the pivot,being responsible for the transportation of Qi and the smooth connection of Yin and Yang.Pivot dysfunction can easily lead to internal phlegm-heat accumulation,stagnation of Qi and blood,and various systemic disorders.Chief Physician WANG Jindong,a renowned traditional Chinese medicine expert with over forty years of medical experience in Guangdong Province,has mastered the essence of the pivot theory.He is skilled in using modified Chaiqin Wendan Decoction to treat refractory conditions caused by pivot dysfunction.This article systematically reviews the academic origins and core connotations of the pivot theory.By analyzing the typical medical cases of insomnia,pregnancy-induced cough,depression,and dizziness treated by Professor WANG Jindong,this article explores his syndrome differentiation and treatment approach,medication modification principles,and treatment characteristics based on the application of Chaiqin Wendan Decoction under the pivot theory.This study summarizes his academic philosophy of regulating the pivot,clearing phlegm and heat,protecting the spleen and stomach,and soothing emotions,providing a reference for the clinical application of the pivot theory in guiding the prescribing practice.关键词
