Abstract
Gout is an inflammatory arthropathy caused by the deposition of monosodium urate(MSU)crystals in and around joints. In recent years, both the prevalence and disease burden of gout have been continuously increasing, with marked heterogeneity across regions, ethnic groups, and sociodemographic strata.Overall, the reported prevalence of gout ranges from 1.0%to 6.8%,and the incidence ranges from 0.58 to 2.89 per 1000 person-years.Notably,two coexisting epidemiological trends have been observed:a younger age of disease onset and an aggravated aging-related disease burden. The onset and progression of gout are associated with multiple risk factors, including non-modifiable factors such as age, sex, and genetic susceptibility,as well as modifiable factors such as hyperuricemia, obesity, dietary patterns, comorbidities, and medication use.A comprehensive overview of the epidemiological profiles and risk factors of gout facilitates the establishment of life-course-management-centered risk stratification and integrated prevention and treatment strategies, and provides a reliable direction for precision intervention research on gout.关键词
