How do Cross-organizational ESG Regulations Trigger the Digital Response:Based on the Perspective of Supply Chain Spillovers

Abstract
Against the backdrop of efforts to enhance the competitiveness of industrial and supply chains,promoting the synergistic development of green and digital transformation among firms within the supply chain has become increasingly critical.Using supply chain data of Chinese A-listed companies from 2010-2021,this study empirically analyses the impact of ESG activities of customer enterprises on suppliers' digital transformation and further examines the moderating effect of the discourse power of enterprises.The findings reveal that customer ESG performance significantly drives supplier digital transformation,demonstrating an asymmetric transmission effect of green governance within the supply chain.Additionally,supply chain discourse power positively moderates the relationship between customer ESG performance and supplier digital transformation.Mechanism tests indicate that customer ESG performance primarily facilitates supplier digital transformation by mitigating managerial myopia,providing digital technology support,and alleviating financing constraints.Further analysis shows that the impact of customer ESG performance on supplier digital transformation exhibits significant heterogeneity depending on whether the customer operates in the digital economy sector and the ownership structure of the supplier.These findings provide valuable theoretical insights into the mechanisms underlying the synergistic development of digitalization and green transformation within supply chains.关键词
