The Impact of New Urbanization on Urban Resilience:Evidence from Prefecture-Level Panel Data in China
摘要
Abstract
Enhancing urban resilience and promoting sustainable development are core objectives of high-quality urbanization in the new era.This paper treats the New Urbanization Comprehensive Pilot as a quasi-natural experiment and employs a multi-pe-riod difference-in-differences(DID)model,using panel data from 190 prefecture-level cities between 2005 and 2022,to systemat-ically evaluate the impact of the New Urbanization Policy on urban resilience.The findings reveal that the policy significantly en-hances urban resilience,primarily through the effects of technological innovation and employment expansion.Further analysis indi-cates that this policy effect is more pronounced in eastern and central regions,as well as in large cities,while it is less evident in western regions and small-and-medium-sized cities.The conclusions provide empirical evidence and policy insights for the target-ed and effective implementation of the New Urbanization Policy and for advancing resilience governance in China.关键词
