Application of a kinesiophobia intervention program based on the IMB model for patients with atrial fibrillation complicated with frailty

Abstract
Objective:To explore the effects of an kinesiophobia intervention program based on the information-motivation-behavioral skills(IMB)model on patients with atrial fibrillation complicated with frailty.Methods:A total of 160 patients with atrial fibrillation complicated with frailty admitted to the department of cardiovascular medicine of a tertiary Grade A hospital in Zhengzhou from January to October 2025 were selected as the study subjects and allocated in a 1∶1 ratio to a control group and an observation group.The control group received routine atrial fibrillation nursing intervention and discharge guidance;the observation group received the kinesiophobia intervention program based on the IMB model.kinesiophobia level[assessed by the Tampa Scale for Kinesiophobia Heart(TSK-SV Heart)],exercise rehabilitation adherence,incidence of frailty,cardiac function[6-Minute Walk Test(6 MWT)],and quality of life[assessed by the Chinese version of Atrial Fibrillation Effect on Quality of Life(AFEQT)]were compared between the two groups before intervention(T0),at the end of in-hospital intervention(T1),and 3 months after intervention(T2).Results:A total of 80 cases in the control group and 79 cases in the observation group completed the study.At the end of in-hospital intervention and 3 months after intervention,the between-group effects,time effects,and interaction effects were all statistically significant for kinesiophobia level,exercise rehabilitation adherence,incidence of frailty,cardiopulmonary function,and quality of life scores(all P<0.01).Conclusion:The kinesiophobia intervention program based on the IMB model can effectively reduce exercise fear and the incidence of frailty,improve exercise adherence,and enhance cardiac function and quality of life in patients with atrial fibrillation complicated with frailty.关键词
