Qualitative study on the training experience and professional dilemma of Nutrition Support Nurses
摘要
Abstract
Objective:To explore the training experience, professional dilemmas, and development needs of Nutrition Support Nurses, and to provide evidence for optimizing the training system and clarifying their clinical role positioning. Methods:A descriptive qualitative research method was adopted.Through purposeful sampling,17 trainees of Nutrition Support Nurses certified by the Chinese Nursing Association across the country from April to June 2025 were selected for semi-structured interviews, with an interview duration of 20 to 30 minutes. The data were analyzed by using the Colaizzi 7-step analysis method until the data was saturated. Results:A total of three themes and thirteen sub-themes were extracted, the training system urgently needs optimization(insufficient breadth and depth of training content, weak clinical practice components, monotonous training formats, and tight course schedules);professional benefits and personal growth(significant improvement in professional competence, deepened role cognition, expanded job responsibilities, and positive lifestyle changes);and practice barriers and core challenges(blurred role positioning and conflicting multitask demands, core competency gaps, disconnection between theory and clinical practice, absence of continuing care responsibilities, and insufficient organizational and environmental support). Conclusions:The training program for Nutrition Support Nurses requires continuous optimization.Stakeholders at all levels should pay attention to the development dilemmas they face, clarify their roles and responsibilities, and emphasize their training and development,so as to maximize the value of Nutrition Support Nurses in clinical practice.关键词
