Abstract
Objective To explore the influence of bone cement distribution on the early therapeutic effect of unilater-al percutaneous kyphoplasty(PKP)in the treatment of osteoporotic vertebral compression fracture(OVCF).Meth-ods The 215 patients with OVCFs were treated with unilateral PKP.According to the distribution of bone cement,they were divided into group A(satisfactory dispersion of bone cement,166 cases)and group B(poor dispersion of bone cement,49 cases).The surgical conditions,bone cement leakage,pain VAS,ODI,and percentage of anterior edge vertebral height were compared between the two groups.Results All patients were followed up for 6-8 months.There was no statistically significant difference in surgical time between the two groups(P＞0.05).The vol-ume of bone cement injection and the rate of bone cement leakage were lower in group A than those in group B(P＜0.05).The pain VAS,ODI,and percentage of anterior edge vertebral height at 3 d after surgery and the last follow-up were all lower than those before surgery in both groups(P＜0.05).The pain VAS and ODI in group A were lower than those in group B at 3 d after surgery(P＜0.05),and there was no statistically significant difference in the per-centage of anterior edge vertebral height between the two groups at 3 days after surgery(P＞0.05),and there were no statistically significant differences in the above three indicators between the two groups at the last follow-up(P＞0.05).Conclusions In unilateral PKP treatment of OVCF,bone cement distribution affects the patient's therapeu-tic effect.Patients with satisfactory bone cement distribution have better early outcomes.关键词
