Evaluation of coupling and coordination relationship between new-type urbanization and water resource carrying capacity in Foshan City

Abstract
In order to explore the relationship between urbanization and water environment and promote the sustainable and coordinated development of urbanization and water resources,the coupling and coordination relationship between new urban-ization and water resources in Foshan City from 2014 to 2023 was empirically analyzed with the methods of entropy weight,coupling coordination degree model and grey correlation degree model.The results show that:(1)The comprehensive index of new urbanization and the comprehensive index of water resources carrying capacity in Foshan City showed a fluctuating upward trend,and the coupling and coordination relationship between the two maintained an overall upward trend,rising from 0.56 to 0.83,experiencing the evolution from"basic coordination-low level coupling"to"good coupling and coordina-ted development".(2)The comprehensive grey correlation index between the indicators in the two systems of new urbaniza-tion and water resources carrying capacity in Foshan City is 0.59 and 0.61 respectively,which is in a strong correlation in-terval,among which the indicators with greater impact are"per capita GDP"and"water consumption of ten thousand yuan GDP".(3)The growth rate of new urbanization is significantly faster than that of water resources carrying capacity,and the stability of water resources carrying capacity is insufficient due to hydrological factors.By analyzing the influencing factors and putting forward suggestions for water resources development,the research can provide reference for Foshan City to a-chieve coordinated development,optimize water resources management and control,and build a benchmark for high-quality manufacturing development and livable ecological city in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.关键词
