Best evidence summary for non-pharmacological management of sialorrhea in patients with parkinson's disease

Abstract
Objective To summarize the evidence on non-pharmacological management of sialorrhea in patients with Parkinson's dis-ease and provide references for effectively managing patients with Parkinson's disease-related sialorrhea.Methods A systematic search was conducted in domestic and foreign databases,guideline databases and professional association websites for evidence on non-pharmacological management of sialorrhea in patients with Parkinson's disease.Results Sixteen articles were collected,includ-ing three guidelines,one clinical decision-making,six expert consensuses,four systematic reviews,and two randomized controlled tri-als.Twenty-five pieces of evidence across eight domains were summarized,including symptom assessment,lifestyle modification and trigger control,environmental assistance,physical rehabilitation training,non-invasive stimulation therapy,appropriate traditional Chinese medicine techniques,digital therapy,and health education.Conclusion This study systematically summarizes the best evidence for non-pharmacological management of sialorrhea in patients with Parkinson's disease.It is recommended that medical and nursing staff combine specific clinical situations and patients'conditions to rationally select intervention strategies.By implementing standardized and systematic assessment and intervention processes,the severity of sialorrhea in patients can be reduced and the effec-tive application and transformation of evidence can be promoted.关键词
