Significance,Framework,and Methodology for Compiling Country-Specific Geography in the New Era
摘要
Abstract
The writing of country geography is essential for addressing the defining challenges of our time.This study focuses on the systematic innovation of conceptual and methodological foundations by developing an operational paradigm that integrates"concepts-methods-techniques".Grounded in the dual demands of national strategy and disciplinary development,and drawing on the experience of the World Country and Regional Geography Research Series,this study explores the theoretical framework and practical pathways for writing country geography in the new era.Country geography writing has transcended traditional chorographic description to become an important field of knowledge that serves national strategic decision-making,deepens disciplinary theoretical innovation,and addresses global challenges.The study establishes an integrated writing paradigm characterized by"systems thinking as the framework,problem-oriented demands as the driver,global interconnectedness as the reference,and data-driven approaches as the tool."At its core lies the fundamental principle of"problem orientation and demand-driven,"which is interwoven with three key conceptual threads:"systematicity and dynamism""globalization and connectivity",and"interdisciplinarity and comprehensiveness".Using Geography of Myanmar as a narrative vehicle,this study innovatively proposes a"four-first"working logic centered on"research before writing,data before research,groundwork before analysis,and specifics before synthesis,"while emphasizing the systematic empowerment of new technologies and methods such as big data and artificial intelligence in the writing process.Through the synergy of these ideas and methods,this study aims to promote a paradigm shift in country geography writing from static regional description to dynamic strategic simulation,thereby producing"strategic knowledge products"that possess both academic foresight and decision-support value,and providing geographical disciplinary support for the construction of an independent knowledge system of country and area studies with Chinese characteristics.The innovation of ideas and methodology in country geography writing is an open proposition,and its vitality resides in continuous critical examination and dynamic adaptation.关键词
