Abstract
Eye,lip,and children's cosmetics involve susceptible populations and anatomical sites that are particularly vulnerable to microbial contamination.The current standard for total aerobic microbial count,an indicator reflecting the hygienic quality of cosmetics,is no longer fully aligned with the development needs of the cosmetics industry.Through a literature review and comparison of domestic and international standards,this paper summarizes the potential hazards posed by microbial contamination in cosmetics to vulnerable populations and sensitive application sites.Differences in total aerobic microbial count limits for eye,lip,and children's cosmetics among China,the United States,the European Union,Japan,and other regions are also discussed.Furthermore,statistical analysis of total aerobic microbial count testing data for these three categories of cosmetics were conducted to evaluate their actual hygienic status and the microbial control capabilities of manufacturers.Based on the findings,it is recommended that the total aerobic microbial count limits for these products be tightened to promote harmonization with international standards and support the high-quality development of China's cosmetics industry.关键词
