Geological Characteristics and Development Potential of Deep Coalbed Methane Resources in Yichuan-Huanglong Block in Ordos Basin

Abstract
Yichuan-Huanglong Block is located in the southeastern Ordos basin.CBM research remains at the initial stage and the characteristics of CBM reservoirs are yet to be fully clarified.Based on geological and experimental data in the study area,a systematic analysis has been conducted.Based on geological and experimental data,basic geological conditions of the coal seam have been systematically analyzed.By using small panel method,in-situ and recoverable resources of coal,rock and gas have been calculated,re-source classification evaluation has been carried out,and Comparision and analysis have been carried out with Linxing block,Linchuan'nan block and Daning—Jixian block.It is showed that the thermal evolution degree of No.8 coal in the study area is high(1.45%～2.96%),with strong hydrocarbon generation abili-ty.The coal type is mainly bright coal,and accounting for 74%.The coal structure is mainly primary structure coal,which is conducive to the preservation of coal rock gas.The regional coal seam develop-ment is stable,with an average thickness of 4.2 m.The cleavage and microcracks developed well.There are 4～10 face cleats within the scope of 5 cm,5～15 end cleats within the scope of 5 cm.The proportion of free gas is 15.21%～46.47%,which is higher than other blocks in Ordos Basin.The structure is sim-ple,the top and bottom cover conditions are good,hydrodynamic effect is weak,and the storage condi-tions are superior.According to calculations,the in-situ resources of coal,rock and gas are 3c349.5×108 m3,and the recoverable in-situ resources are 1 674.75×108 m3.Class Ⅰ resources account for 67%and are mainly distributed in the southern Huanglong coal rich area and the northern Yichuan coal rich area.Based on comprehensive comparison,it is believed that Yichuan—Huanglong block has a relatively good foundation in coal and rock gas resources,with better reservoir and preservation conditions.It has the po-tential for large scale development of coal and rock gas.关键词
