Planning and Design Strategies for Large-Scale Integrated Transportation Hubs in Urban Core Areas

Abstract
[Objective]In response to practical challenges in urban core areas,including scarce land resources,complex site conditions,high traffic loads,and difficulties in station-city integration,this study conducts an in-depth study on the implementation of the railway passenger station design concepts of"innovative integration,appropriate intensification,smart convenience,green resilience,and humanistic quality."[Methods]Taking the Chongqing railway station and integrated transportation hub project as the research object,this study analyzed three core issues:the unique location,complex site conditions,and evolution of the station-city relationship.[Results]Innovative planning and design strategies were proposed in six dimensions:holistically coordinating the design scope and content to achieve a three-dimensional composite layout;reasonably determining the scope and functions of the railway over-track platform while considering the interface relationships and reserved conditions between the spaces above and below the platform;breaking through the conventional"upper-level arrival and lower-level departure"pattern,reasonably locating the transportation transfer center,and establishing a fully functional collection and distribution system;using a slow-traffic system to connect the transportation hub with urban functions,thereby integrating the hub itself,transportation facilities,public spaces,and development plots into an organic whole;extending the transportation planning boundary to the urban impact zone,arranging dispersed multi-point car pick-up and drop-off areas,and simultaneously strengthening the coupling with public transportation and the slow-traffic system;and actively adapting the hub image to the characteristic landscape features of the urban core area to achieve station-city symbiosis and integration.[Conclusion]The research findings effectively address the challenges faced by Chongqing railway station in terms of functional completeness,transportation convenience,and station-city integration,and provide important references for the integrated planning and design of large-scale integrated transportation hubs in urban core areas.关键词
