Sedimentary microfacies-constrained development model and three-dimensional development potential evaluation of deep shale gas reservoirs
摘要
Abstract
This paper investigates the deep shale gas reservoirs of the Upper Ordovician Wufeng Formation(O3w)to the first submember of the first member of the Lower Silurian Longmaxi Formation(S1l11)in the Luzhou block,Sichuan Basin,in order to understand how sedimentary microfacies control the quality and three-dimensional development potential of such reservoirs.Using core, logging, geochemical, and petrophysical data,high-frequency cycles and sedimentary microfacies were characterized, the factors controlling reservoir development in various layers were identified, and a sedimentary microfacies-constrained development model for high-quality reservoirs was established. The following results are obtained.(ⅰ)The O3w-S1l11 in the study area can be divided into two gas-bearing assemblages. The lower assemblage, developed in a deep-water anoxic environment,is dominated by organic-rich siliceous shelf and organic-rich argillaceous shelf microfacies. In contrast, the upper assemblage, formed under weakly reducing to weakly oxidizing conditions,is characterized by argillaceous shelf and calcareous shelf microfacies.(ⅱ)High-quality reservoirs are primarily developed in Layers 1-3 of S1l11.Specifically,Layers 2-3 exhibit well-developed siliceous organisms, better organic matter abundance, higher brittle mineral content, and superior pore preservation conditions, with a continuous thickness of 6-18 m,constituting the primary Class Ⅰ reservoirs. In the upper assemblage, only the upper portion of Layer 6 contains Class Ⅰ reservoirs(2-6 m in continuous thickness),indicating its potential as a succeeding shale gas development target.(ⅲ)The development of high-quality reservoirs is predominantly governed by paleo-water depth and redox conditions. The deep-water,strongly reducing environment favors higher organic matter abundance,well-developed siliceous organisms, and greater continuous thickness of Class Ⅰ reservoirs. It is concluded that the Luzhou block hosts two sets of Class Ⅰ high-quality shale gas reservoirs spaced 40-50 m vertically. This configuration provides a geological foundation for a dual-level(lower lateral well+upper lateral well),three-dimensional development strategy, with Layers 1-3 of the lower assemblage serving as the core targets and Layer 6 of the upper assemblage as a succeeding target.关键词
