Technological Innovation and the State of Life:Hopes,Desires,and Expectations of Organic Farmers

Abstract
Different from the mainstream narrative of technological control,organic farmers form a life state of both freedom(hope)and"binding"(desire)in the process of technological creation and use.This state of life not only com-bines and mixes hope and desire,puts possibilities and limitations together,but also reveals a certain particularity of hu-man beings in connection with nature.By integrating philosophical and empirical approaches to technology,this paper holds that the contradictions and tensions between the view of human-nature symbiosis and the human will to power over nature,as well as between people's self-expectation and self-realization on the one hand and ecological balance on the oth-er,are the main causes of shaping this state of life.Behind these two different ideas,there are two different views on peo-ple.On the basis of empirical research and a different understanding of technology as an intermediary and man as a sub-ject,this paper puts forward the observation and understanding which,while in accord with Heidegger's suggestion of"Gelassenheit(Releasement)"in the technological age,differs from it:a hope arising from the real world.At the same time,the special life state of organic farmers also has its general significance,that is,this life state is"his",and may also be"mine",from their state we can gain insight into and reflection on our own lives.关键词
