China Consortium of Elite Teaching Hospitals Consensus on the Competency Framework for Clinician Educators

Abstract
In line with the trend towards"competency-based medical education"and tailored to China's national context,Peking Union Medical College Hospital,in collaboration with other China Consortium of Elite Teaching Hospitals,has established the nation's first consensus on the competency framework for clinician edu-cators to promote progressive longitudinal faculty development.Through literature review,nominal group tech-nique and Delphi method,combined with China's national context,the consensus identifies seven core compe-tencies for clinician educators:medical knowledge and skills,teaching theory and practice,learner-centered ed-ucation,professionalism and role modeling,reflective practice and improvement,communication and collabora-tion,teaching management and leadership.The framework encompasses 22 sub-competencies covering multidi-mensional objectives in education knowledge,skills,attitudes and attributes.This consensus aims to enhance the educational quality of teaching hospitals and advance the transformation of Chinese medical education toward a competency-based model by providing a standardized framework for the training,evaluation,and professional de-velopment of clinician educators.Future efforts will focus on refining a quantifiable assessment system to promote career advancement for clinician educator faculty and continuous improvement of healthcare quality in China.关键词
