Chinese expert consensus on imaging-guided evaluation of resectability for ovarian cancer(2025 edition)

Abstract
Cytoreductive surgery constitutes the cornerstone of treatment for patients with advanced ovarian cancer.The feasibility of achieving optimal cytoreduction is contingent upon both patient tolerance and surgical resectability.Imaging examinations serve as critical tools for assessing ovarian cancer resectability and play an essential role in treatment decision-making.Common imaging modalities,including computed tomography(CT),magnetic resonance imaging(MRI),and positron emission tomography(PET),along with associated scoring prediction models,exhibit differential diagnostic performance and varying advantages in detecting ovarian cancer lesions and evaluating resectability.The prognostic significance of primary treatment for ovarian cancer underscores the necessity of its delivery at specialized oncology centers;however,even within experienced centers,there exist divergent approaches and criteria for resectability assessment.Currently,no guidelines or consensus are available domestically or internationally that specifically address preoperative imaging-based evaluation of ovarian cancer resectability.To enhance the standardized application of imaging examinations and scoring prediction models,the Integrative Gynecologic Oncology Committee of the China Anti-Cancer Association,the Ovarian Cancer Specialty Committee of the China Anti-Cancer Association,and the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of Xijing Hospital,Air Force Medical University,conducted extensive surveys among gynecologic oncology specialists,verified relevant data,and engaged in multiple rounds of discussion,culminating in the development of the Chinese expert consensus on imaging-guided evaluation of resectability for ovarian cancer(2025 edition).This consensus aims to standardize preoperative assessment and improve the uniformity and quality of surgical management for advanced ovarian cancer.It has been registered in the Practice Guideline Registration for Transparency(PREPARE)platform(No.PREPARE-2026CN1853).关键词
