Abstract
Meat products are produced and consumed on a massive scale in China.The huge volume of slaughter by-products may be recycled as valuable resources if properly disposed of,whereas regulatory negligence may lead to disease outbreaks and food safety hazards.In order to address prominent challenges in China's regulation of slaughter by-products,including the absence of a legal basis,ambiguous standards,and weak whole-chain control,the sources of these by-products,existing regulatory frameworks,and key challenges were reviewed.Drawing on international regulatory experience and taking into account the practices of China's slaughter industry,corresponding countermeasures were proposed,including improving laws and regulations,optimizing classification standards,strengthening whole-chain management,enhancing cross-sectoral coordination,and intensifying law enforcement efforts,with a view to providing a reference for future regulation of slaughter by-products.关键词
