Abstract
This study was conducted to investigate the effects of dietary honeysuckle extract(HE)supplementation on laying performance,egg quality,and serum biochemical indices of laying hens.A total of 240 60-week-old Hy-line brown laying hens were randomly divided into 4 groups fed with diets supplemented with 0(HE0 group),200(HE1 group),400(HE2 group),600 mg/kg(HE3 group)of HE,respectively.Each treatment had 3 replicates with 20 layers per replicate,the experiment lasted for 4 weeks.Compared with HE0 group,the laying rate in HE2,HE3 groups were significantly increased(P<0.05),and the feed-to-egg ratio in these two groups were significantly decreased(P<0.05).No significant differences were observed among 4 groups in egg weight,egg shape index,eggshell strength,eggshell thickness,albumen height,and Haugh unit(P>0.05).Serum triglyceride level in HE3 group was significantly lower than that in both HE0 and HE1 groups(P<0.05).Serum total cholesterol in HE1,HE2,HE3 groups was significantly lower than HE0 group(P<0.05).These observations indicate that dietary supplementation with HE can improve laying performance and lipid metabolism in laying hens.The recommended supplementation level of HE is 400 to 600 mg/kg.关键词
