Textual research on'forgetfulness' in article 237 of Shanghan Lun
摘要
Abstract
Article 237 of Shanghan Lun records'forgetfulness'as a mental symptom.There is no consensus among traditional Chinese medicine scholars on whether'forgetfulness'is a textual error for'delirium',nor is there a definitive conclusion on the pathological mechanism of'forgetfulness'.Through research methods such as textual criticism,analysis of word usage habits,and syndrome type analysis,the following conclusions have been drawn:The term'forgetfulness' in Article 237 of Shanghan Lun is not a textual error for'delirium',and the'Yangming syndrome'mentioned in this article does not refer to'Yangming Fu-viscera excess syndrome'.The syndrome of blood amassment in the lower jiao can lead to'forgetfulness',which is unrelated to the heat syndrome of Yangming.Article 237 of Shanghan Lun is intended to differentiate between the syndrome of blood amassment in lower jiao and Yangming fu-viscera excess syndrome.If a patient exhibits both Yangming syndrome and symptoms such as mania and delirium,it is indeed Yangming fu-viscera excess syndrome,and purgative formulas like Chengqi Decoction can be used to cleanse the intestines.If a patient exhibits both Yangming syndrome and'forgetfulness',it indicates blood amassment in lower jiao,and Didang Decoction should be used to expel the stagnant blood.关键词
