Abstract
The Expert Consensus on the Establishment and Management of a Standardized Biobank for Degenerative Cervical Myelopathy(2025 Edition)(hereinafter referred to as the Consensus)is a crucial guiding document developed in response to the increasingly urgent needs for both clinical management and scientific research on degenerative cervical myelopathy(DCM)against the backdrop of population aging.This article interprets the Consensus through the lens of rel-evant domestic and international standards and guidelines,systematically elucidating its formulation background,core con-tent,and practical pathways.The Consensus establishes comprehensive management specifications covering the entire workflow,from ethical review and sample collection to multi-source data integration,long-term storage,and quality con-trol.It particularly highlights the distinctive,integrated approach of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)and Western medicine-by integrating TCM syndrome differentiation with modern multi-omics technologies-to establish a systematic and practical methodology for constructing disease-specific biobanks.Consequently,an in-depth interpretation of this Con-sensus will provide an actionable framework for standardizing biological sample resources,advancing the exploration of dis-ease mechanisms,enabling early diagnosis,and facilitating precision treatment with TCM for DCM.This is instrumental in enhancing the overall standard of clinical care and fostering collaborative research efforts on this disease.关键词
