Effects of Qiliqiangxin Capsules Combined with Ticagrelor Tablets on Platelet Activation Markers and Epicardial Fat Attenuation in Patients with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus and Coronary Heart Disease

Abstract
Objective:To investigate the effects of Qiliqiangxin capsules combined with ticagrelor tablets on platelet activation markers and epicardial fat attenuation(EFat)in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus and coronary heart disease.Methods:A total of 86 patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus and coronary heart disease who were admitted to our hospital between January 2023 and January 2025 were enrolled.Using a random number table,the patients were assigned to a control group(n=43,conventional therapy plus ticagrelor tablets)or a combination group(n=43,conventional therapy plus ticagrelor tablets and Qiliqiangxin capsules).Both groups were treated for 4 weeks.Traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)syndrome scores;platelet activation markers[lysosome-associated membrane protein 3(CD63)and P-selectin(CD62P)];EFat;mean computed tomography(CT)attenuation of subcutaneous fat;cardiac function parameters[left ventricular end-systolic volume(LVESV),left ventricular end-diastolic volume(LVEDV),and left ventricular ejection fraction(LVEF)];inflammatory markers[Toll-like receptor 3(TLR3),high-sensitivity C reactive protein(hs-CRP),and tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α)];and the incidence of adverse reactions were compared between the groups.Results:After 4 weeks of treatment,all TCM syndrome scores and the levels or values of CD63,CD62P,EFat,mean CT attenuation of subcutaneous fat,LVESV,LVEDV,TLR3,hs-CRP,and TNF-α decreased in both groups and were lower in the combination group than in the control group(P<0.05).LVEF increased in both groups and was higher in the combination group than in the control group(P<0.05).The overall incidence of adverse reactions did not differ significantly between the groups(P>0.05).Conclusion:Qiliqiangxin capsules combined with ticagrelor tablets effectively reduced platelet activation markers and EFat,improved cardiac function,and attenuated inflammatory responses in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus and coronary heart disease without increasing the risk of adverse reactions.关键词
