中医典籍中"燥"与"躁"形近术语的辨析与英译探究

Abstract
The homophonic and graphically similar Chinese characters"燥"(Zào)and"躁"(Zào),with their semantically intertwined meanings,are extensively employed in traditional chinese medicine(TCM)theory to describe core clinical elements including disease etiology,pathogenesis,manifestations,names of disease,and therapeutic principles.Accurate differentiation and appropriate English translation of these visually similar terms are crucial for cross-cultural dissemination of TCM classics.This study examines Jin Gui Yao Lue(Synopsis of the Golden Chamber)and Shang Han Lun(Treatise on Cold Damage)-the constituent texts of Shang Han Za Bing Lun(Treatise on Cold Damage and Miscellaneous Diseases)-through terminological analysis of"燥"and"躁"in original contexts and critical evaluation of translation strategies in authoritative English editions,establishing a referential framework for translating homophonic and graphically similar terms in TCM literature.关键词
