摘要

Abstract

Many complicated and diffcult problems concemed with engineering geology and construction technique have been encountered during construction in the Chang-Jiang Three Gorges Project (TGP)Finding outa quick and high resolution non-destructive method for exploration of concealed conditions related to gelolgy and quality of construction play an importantrole inconstruction progress.Ground Penetrating radar(GPR)is one technique which has been effectively used in the TGP during construction stage to determine the distribution range of non-uniform weathering in granite prior to excavation,to outline the extent and attitude of bigger faults and weathering interlayers and to check pavement quality of special highway .In this paper,three case histories are presented to illustrate successfiul and effective application of GPR technique confirmed with on-site examination.
