Preparation of the anorthite/mullite composites by the in-situ growth method

摘要

Abstract

Anorthite/mullite composites were prepared by the in-situ growth method using the main materials such as kaolin, aluminum hydroxide and calcium carbonate. Effects of the sintering temperature and anorthite/mullite mass ratio on the properties of the composites were studied. The results show that the highest flexural strength of the composites are 128.9-151.7 MPa, when the mass ratio of anorthite/mullite is 30:70 and the composites are sintered at 1 400-1 420 ℃. The in-situ growth prepared anorthite/mullite ceramic-glass composites exhibit better dielectric properties and higher flexural strength, which could be applied for the low temperature co-fired ceramic substrate materials.
