Design of apodized weighting SAW temperature sensor based on Hamming function

Abstract
A 431.5 MHz surface acoustic wave (SAW) temperature sensor was preprared with selecting a special tangential piezoelectric crystal, and processing the electrode length of the interdigital transducer (IDT) by apodized weighting using Hamming function. The impact of Hamming function on restraining the frequency response sidelobe of IDT was researched. The temperature-frequency characteristic test was done in order to study the performance of the prepared SAW temperature sensor such as the sensitivity, accuracy and so on. The simulation and measurement results show that the apodized weighting method based on Hamming function can restrain the out-of-band response of IDT more than 50 dB, and the impact of Hamming function on restraining sidelobe is obvious. The measurement error of the prepared SAW temperature sensor is less than 0.5 ℃, and the sensitivity of it is up to 7.79 kHz/℃, the temperature-frequency characteristic is linear in the temperature range of-20-+120 ℃.关键词
