Teacher Professional Identity of Tuition -free Normal College Students: Structure and Character

Abstract
Based on former researches of teacher professional identity and characteristics of tuition - free normal college students, this research proposed a new theoretical model to measure teacher professional identity of tuition - free normal college students. 284 and 168 tuition - free normal college students from Beijing Normal University were investigated to explore and verify the structure of the model separately. Survey data of 714 tuition - free normal college students is used to analyze characters of their teacher professional identity. The results showed : ( 1 ) the teacher professional identity of tuition - free normal college students consisted of three sub - dimensions which were intrinsic value identity, extrinsic value identity and volitional behavior identity; (2) the level of the teacher professional identity is little above average level but still has space for promotion and in the three sub - dimensions, it declined successively. Besides, there were demographic differences in the three sub -dimensions, such as original area, gender, and grade level. At last, the researchers discussed the results above and put forward relevant suggestions.关键词
