Abstract

In order to study the effect of rose extract on the open-field test of stressed mice,8-weeks-old male BALB/C mice were divided into 4 groups:control group(C),stressed group(S),low-dose rose extract group(L-RE),and high-dose rose extract group(H-RE)based on their body weights.The mice of S,L-RE and H-RE group were suffered restraint stress 1h a day.6 weeks later,open-field test was determined.Results showed that compared with C group,fast-moving time(%)and the locomotive activity of S group in periphery and central area were markedly decreased(P0.05).Compared with S group,L-RE group had higher locomotive activity in periphery and central area and had less immobility time(%)(P0.05),and H-RE group had higher locomotive activity in periphery area and less immobility time(%)(P0.05).The above results suggested rose extract was reducing the immobility time and improving the locomotive activity of stressed mice and showed some anxiolytic effect.
