Using AB-8 Macroporous Adsorption Resin for Separation and Purification of Total Flavonoids from Stenoloma chusana(L.) Ching

Abstract
Objective: To establish optimal parameters for the separation and purification of total flavonoids from the whole plant of Stenoloma chusana(L.) Ching using AB-8 macroporous adsorption resin.Methods: Static and dynamic adsorption and desorption behaviors of AB-8 macroporous adsorption resin were evaluated for achieving the best purification of total flavonoids.Results: The optimum adsorption and desorption parameters were found to be: sample pH 4.5,sample concentration 1.00 mg/mL,sample loading flow rate 80 mL/h,70% ethanol as the eluent,desorption flow rate 40 mL/h and eluent amount 60 mL,resulting in a total flavonoid purity of 66.16%.Conclusion: AB-8 macroporous adsorption resin is safe,economical and easy to use and can therefore be promisingly applied to separate and purify total flavonoids from the whole plant of Stenoloma chusana(L.)
