Application of hydrogen stable isotope in Chinese export tilapia geographical origin traceability

Abstract
To assess the feasibility of isotopic traceability and function of §2 H values in Chinese export tilapia geographical traceability. TheSzH values of tilapia(dorsal meat and abdominal meat) collected from Guangdong, Hainan, Guangxi and Fujian regions were investigated with an isotope ratio spectrometer. The differences of hydrogen composition of samples from above four regions were compared and the relationship between the stable hydrogen isotope in tilapia tissues and the longitude, latitude of the region was analyzed, and then the feasibility of applying the hydrogen isotope to trace the tilapia geographical origin was discussed. The results indicated that there were significant differences(P<0. 05) of S2 H values in tilapia tissues from different regions. In addition, there was very significant correlation of S2 H values between dorsal meat and abdominal meat of tilapia. The S2 H values in tilapia tissues decreased with the latitude increased. Based on the values of S2 H, the correct rate of the discriminant analysis was up to 85%. Stable hydrogen, isotope in tilapia tissues is the potential indicator in tilapia geographical origin tracea-bility.关键词
