Influence of cathode materials on properties of organic solar cells

摘要

Abstract

Three kinds of bulk heterojunction organic solar cells were fabricated with different cathode materials including Al, LiF/Al and Ca/Al, respectively. The photoelectric characteristics of cells were characterized, and effect mechanisms of different cathode materials on the cells were analyzed. The results show that when three kinds of cells are illuminated under the radiation intensity of 10-1 W/cm2, their open voltages are 0.419 3, 0.565 0 and 0.591 1 V. Respectively, and their power conversion efficiencies are 1.17%, 2.06% and 1.91%, respectively. The organic solar cell with LiF/Al layered cathode possesses higher energy conversion efficiency. The lower the work functions of cathode materials are, the higher the energy conversion efficiencies of organic solar cells are.
