Abstract
In order to find a V-I characteristic formula of ZnO nonlinear resistor that is suitable for engineering calculations, the resistance properties of ZnO nonlinear resistor were studied. The results show that there is a definite mathematical relation between the resistance of ZnO nonlinear resistor and the current, which can be expressed by "R-I characteristic formula", and from which the V-I characteristic formula satisfied engineering calculations can be deduced. The formula is successfully utilized in development of new product and design calculations of surge overvoltage protection. In addition, a few peculiar behavior of the nonlinear resistor also was reported.关键词
