Study on a CPW-feed ultra-wideband antenna

Abstract
A CPW-feed ultra-wideband antenna was designed. The antenna was etched on a 35.0 mm×35.0 mm×1.6 mm single-layer copper-clad dielectric substrate made from PTFE with a relative permittivity of 2.65. The size parameters of the antenna was simulated and optimized with HFSS. Based on the optimized parameters, an antenna was fabricated and its performance was evaluated. The results show that the bandwidth and relative bandwidth of the antenna are increased to 2.2-8.0 GHz (return loss≤-10 dB) and 114%, respectively, by cutting asymmetrical polygon notch in the ground plane of CPW. The designed antenna shows a good gain and radiation performance, meeting the performance requirements of ultra-wideband antenna.关键词
