Sound transmission loss measurement of the muffler with the transfer matrix

Abstract
With two opposite raveling waves as the port parameters, the experimental measurement method of the transfer matrix of the muffler was researched, and the measurement model was established. A kind of expansion chamber muffler was designed and produced, the experimental measurement duct system was set up, the sound transfer matrix of the muffler from which the sound transmission loss can be calculated was identified, it was compared with the theoretical one and the results imply that the parameters of the transfer matrix of the muffler, which have the clear physical meaning, are the sound pressure transmission and reflection coefficients respectively; The sound transmission loss resulting from the sound transfer matrix is basically consistent with the theoretical calculation one and its measurement method is validated as well.关键词
