Abstract

The optimal parameters of the extraction technology of volatile oil from Moslae herba were studied. The experiment took solvent to material ratio, extraction temperature and ultrasonic time as independent variables and extraction rate of volatile oil as the dependent variable to optimize the extraction techniques by Box — Behnken design. The result showed that the influencing order of three factors on the extraction rate of volatile oil was: extraction temperature, ultrasonic time and solvent to material ratio. Extraction temperature and ultrasonic time had a very significant effect on extraction rate, and solvent to material ratio had a least effect. The interactions between solvent to material ratio and extraction temperature, solvent to material ratio and ultrasonic time, extraction temperature and ultrasonic time were insignificant. But all of the quadratic terms were very significant. The optimum extraction parameters were: solvent to material ratio 12. lmL/g, extraction temperature 56. 8℃ and ultrasonic time 31min. Under the optimum conditions, the extraction rate of volatile oil reached to 3. 868% . Box - Behnken design for extracting volatile oil from Moslae herba was simple, highly predictive. It provides a basis for extraction of volatile oil from Moslae herba for industrial production.
