Abstract

Effects of different trellises and shoot density on berry quality and yield was studied on 4-years-old wine grape (Vitis vinifera L. cv. Cabernet Sauvignon). The results showed that, the fruit yield under double curtain trellis was significantly higher than that under single curtain trellis. Yield was significantly correlated with the shoot density under different trellises. Shoot density had no significant effect on berry weight under double curtain trellis. Compare with the control, the treatment of 21 shoots per meter under single curtain trellises significantly increased the berry weight, while 15 and 18 shoots per meter significantly reduced the berry weight in upper layer and lower layer respectively. The treatment of 12 shoots per meter significantly increased the sugar content of berries in the upper layer under double curtain trellis and the organic acid content of berries in both layers under single curtain trellis. The treatments of 15 and 18 shoots per meter significantly increased the acid content of berries at a level of 25~35%in both layers under double curtain trellis, but have no effect on sugar content.
