Abstract
Teaching and scientific research are identified as two essential functions of universities, it has provided fodder for arguments in higher education. The understanding and grasping of the relationship between teaching and research is directly related to the harmony and development of university and the social service function. How to achieve the balance between teaching and research? How do the teachers grasp them? The purpose of this article is to retrospect the development of university history, focus on the situation of the relationship between teaching and research under analyzing the landmark universities, which have a tremendous impact on the development of higher education, and give some constructive advice.关键词
