A Comparative Study of the Fi rst Chinese and Korean Students Studying in the United States-From the Perspective of Their Autobiography
摘要
Abstract
Jung Hung(Chinese) and Philip Jaisohn(South Korean) were the first foreign students of their country who graduated from the American University .Jung Hung made his life’s most important patriotic cause because of the “Sending Chinese Children to America”.Philip Jaisohn enlightened the people and promoted South Korea to become a rich and powerful country by founding the “Big Korea Independent Asso-ciation Newspaper” .Therefore by studying their records and the researches done previously on them ,the author wants to provide a full compari-son and analysis on different aspects of their experiences and their contributions ,particular on the difficulties and challenged they encountered . The ethical conduct of “Valuing moral ,despising money” ,independent and stoic personality as well as the uncomplaining spirit of patriotism highlighted by them are very worthy of future generations to admire and learn .关键词
