Abstract

In order to improve the blast resistance in japonica rice of Heilongjiang province, through marker-assisted selection (MAS), the broad-spectrum blast resistant gene Pigm from Gumei 4 (indica) was successfully introgressed into Kongyu 131, Longjing 26 and Kenjiandao 6. Through cross, backcross and self-pollination breeding, 12 lines containing Pigm gene introgression were obtained. Compared with recipient parent, the blast resistant introgression lines were greatly improved, with resistant frequency up to 98.4% and the minimum of 95.2%. At the same time, panicle blast resistance was also improved by the introgessed Pigm gene. Kongyu 131 panicle blast resistance changed from 7 to 1 level, Longjing 26 from 5 to 0-1 level, Kenjiandao 6 from 7 to 1-3 level. The yields of all Pigm gene introgression lines also changed. The plant height and grain number per panicle increased, but seed setting rate became lower. Among these introgression lines, the yields of 5 lines were improved, and these lines could be applied in rice blast resistant breeding.
