Effect of Ce substitution on microwave absorbing properties of MnAl powder

Abstract
MnAlalloy powder was prepared by the process of vacuum levitation melting and high-energy ball milling. The morphology and phase structure of the powder were analyzed byscanning electron microscope(SEM), X-ray diffraction(XRD) and the effect of the Ce substitution on microwaveabsorbing properties of MnAl powder was investigated by an vector network analyzer. The results show that withtheincreasing of Ce content, the Al8Mn4Ce phase increases.Meanwhile, the resonant frequency ofimaginary part of complex dielectric constant(ε″),imaginary part of complex permeability(μ″)andreflection loss(R)of powder move toward low frequency region. The minimum reflectivity of Al8Mn4Cepowderis about–26.9 dB with a coating thickness of 1.8 mm.关键词
