Abstract

[Objective] To understand boron value of fish in China and provide scientific basis for monitoring.[Method] Fresh fish samples were collected from the Bohai,South China,East China,and Yellow Seas,as well as inland areas,and boron content were analyzed by ICP-MS.[Result] A total of 560 samples were collected with the boron positive detection rate of 100%,and the mean concentration for boron was 0.47mg/kg,the median value was 0.37mg/kg,and minimum and maximum values were 0.03mg/kg and 3.96mg/kg respectively.The results indicated that the character of water area,sampling sites and wild or farmed were the important factors influencing the boron content in fish.[Conclusion] The results recommended 2.58mg/kg as boron background value of fish.
