Abstract

In Liaoning province, 155 Magnaporthe grisea isolates were collected and identified from 7 main rice planting regions including Shenyang, Dalian, Dandong, Yingkou, Panjin, Fushun and Tieling in 2015 and 2016. The identification results showed that 44 races of 6 groups were classified by 7 identified rice varieties. In the two years, the rates of ZA and ZB groups were the predominant groups in Liaoning province. ZF group with weak infection ability had a rate behind the rates of ZA and ZB groups, however, the rate of ZF group had an increasing trend. The rates of ZC, ZD and ZF groups took a small proportion and kept stable. ZG group was not identified in the two years. The complex levels of M.grisea in each rice planting region were different. Fushun and Dandong had high complex levels, in which the fungus had 6 groups, ZA, ZB, ZC, ZD, ZE and ZF. Dalian had 5 groups, ZA, ZB, ZC, ZD and ZF. The groups in Panjin were ZA, ZB, ZD and ZF. Tieling had 4 groups, ZA, ZB, ZD and ZF. Shenyang had 4 groups, ZA, ZB, ZE and ZF. Yingkou had 3 groups, ZA, ZB and ZF. Overall, the relative ratio of strong ability of infection groups ZA, ZB, ZC, ZD to the weak infection groups ZE, ZF was about 4:1. The frequency of group ZA was 39.35% and the value of group ZB was 27.74%, in total 67.09%. The group ZF had an increasing trend in 2016. The groups of M.grisea had the trend of complex levels and would have change to weak infection groups. The distribution of M.grisea groups was complex which might be because of the differences in climatic conditions in Liaoning province. Therefore, in order to control the occurrence of rice blast fungus, more attention should paid to the use of multi-resistant varieties in practice to avoid planting a single variety. The results could provide some references for rice breeding in Liaoning province.
