摘要

Abstract

Lithium-air batteries are considered as the most promising energy storage devices due to their ultrahigh theoretical energy density. However, Sluggish kinetics of cathode reactions is one of the key factors limiting the development of lithium-air batteries. The overpotential of the lithium-air batteries can be reduced effectively by adding catalyst, and thereactionrate of the oxygen electrode can be improved accordingly. Firstly, the structures and principles of lithium-air batteries are discussed in this review. Then the recent research progress of transition-metal oxides (manganese dioxide and cobaltosicoxide)as cathode catalysts for lithium-air batteries are reviewed. Finally, future research directions in the field are proposed based on the existing problems.
