Certifying to Teach Secondary Mathematics in the United States: Its Introduction and Critical Review
摘要
Abstract
The quality of school teachers depended on the terms and requirements of teacher certification. Using Pennsylvania as an example, this article introduced and evaluate U.S. Grades 7—12 teacher certification along the following measures:certification process, application requirements, teacher education program, internship assessment, and certification management. We identified the following characteristics for the U.S. teacher certification system: comprehensive and specific examination requirements, detailed teacher education content and assessment standards, regular in-service learning, and so on. These characteristics provided a useful reference for modifying the teacher certification system of China by standardizing the teacher qualification examination system, determining specific assessment criteria, improving in-service learning, and determining appraisal systems.关键词
