摘要

Abstract

The questioning of what teacher education is the logical starting point for teacher education reform and develop -ment.The paper holds that teacher education is professional education and has its inherent connotations , characteristics and development paths .As professional education , teacher education is a kind of practical intelligence education based on ad -vanced knowledge, a systemized intergenerational teaching professional culture transmission method , and a booster for teach-ing professional specialization and social progress .Based on these connotations , teacher education has four characteristics :the universityization of the organization , the practicality of the goals and approaches , the intellectuality of the content and output, and the qualification of the whole process and all elements .Based on these connotations and characteristics , the pa-per suggests four approaches for teacher education reform and development : organization approach , practice approach, knowledge approach and system approach .
