Abstract

As future teachers, the creative spirit and ability of normal students not only affect their own quality and development, but also relate to the level of talent resources for building innovative national development strategy. Based on social cognitive theory and from the perspective of social information processing, this study investigated the characteristics of the creative spirit of 547 normal university students and its relationship with their goal orientation and school environment factors.The results showed that:(1)the creative spirit of the students in the normal university is generally at a medium level.Among them, the level of reflective thinking is the highest and the level of criticism is the lowest.Boys scored higher than girls only in criticism factors.(2) The mastery-approach goal orientation of normal university students is conducive to their innovative spirit, and the performance-avoidance goal orientation hinders their creative spirit.Together, they predicted the 33.5% variation in the spirit of innovation.(3) School environmental factors were positively related to the creative spirit of normal university students, which could predict the 15.1%var-iation of creative spirit.Among them, peer influence and university curriculum had positive predictors for each factor of creative spirit, and teacher support only had a positive predictive effect for criticism.Finally, it discussed the en- lightenment to the cultivation of creative spirit of normal university students.
