摘要

Abstract

Preparing culturally responsive teachers can not only improve the academic achievement of multicultural diverse students,but also can make the education equity be realized in the process of teacher education.Based on the international experiences and the Chinese context,this article constructs six practical procedures for preparing culturally responsive teach- ers:setting the goals of cultivating multicultural attitude,knowledge and culturally responsive teaching abilities;developing interconnected culturally relevant courses with multiple evaluation methods;using strategies such as learning from reflective experience and in learning communities to support prospective teachers;arranging field experiences and overseas immersion practice;teacher educators act as both culturally responsive teaching designers and prospective teachers’social role models;build consistent institutional support systems both in teacher training institutes and U-S-G collaborative partnerships.
