Culturally Responsive Teaching:Development Opportunity for Professional Development of Rural Teachers

Abstract
The improvement of rural education is attributed to the professionalism of rural teachers,especially their percep- tions on rural students and their learning,as well as their sense of belongings to rural cultures and areas.Culturally respon- sive teaching intrinsically drives the professional development of rural teachers in that it assists the rural teachers to reexam- ine rural cultures,to concern rural students,to reestablish conceptualization of students and knowledge,which lead to the better rapport between the teacher and the student,the school and the rural community,as well as the effectiveness of learn- ing and teaching.Culturally responsive teaching is argued to be valuable to the professional development of rural teachers, the quality of rural education,and rural development strategy from national level.关键词
