The Effect of Principals' Instructional Leadership on Teachers' Job Satisfaction and Its Mechanisms

Abstract
Improving teachers'job satisfaction is the key to maintaining the stability of the teaching force,and an important tool to enhance the attractiveness of the teaching profession and promote the high-quality development of education.Based on the survey data of teachers in J city,Hubei province,the study investigates the impact of principals'instructional leadership on teachers'job satisfaction and its mechanism in the context of Chinese education.The study found that principals'instructional leadership significantly and positively predicts teachers'job satisfaction.Teachers'professional development and teachers'affective commitment play an independent mediating role between principals'instructional leadership and teachers'job satisfaction.And teachers'professional development and teachers'affective commitment play a chain mediating role between principals'instructional leadership and teachers'job satisfaction.In view of this,we should improve principals'instructional leadership and move toward distributed instructional leadership;promote teachers'professional development and explore the construction of county teachers'professional development communities;pay attention to teachers'emotional needs and improve the support system for teachers'development.关键词
